Ever since Guerrilla Games first lifted the curtain off their brand new PlayStation 4 exclusive action role-playing video game, "Horizon Zero Dawn," fans have been waiting for any news regarding the game's release date. Now, a recent report seems to suggest that the game might not be coming out within the year as previously expected and that the game may have been pushed back to a 2017 release date.

The latest report regarding the upcoming game's release date seems to indicate that the developers might be pushing back the release of the game in order for them to take advantage of Sony's upcoming new PlayStation 4 console version, the PlayStation 4 4K. Like the report itself, however, the new console — which is reportedly going to have an upgraded processor, graphics chip, and RAM capacity — is still pretty much just rumor and Sony itself has yet to confirm that it's in development.

According to speculations, the upcoming robotic-dinosaurs game might be delayed as it will need to have what some fans in the industry call the NEO mode compatibility with the PlayStation 4 4K console. The new mode will, apparently, be a feature that game developers will be able to build into their games, allowing such to take advantage of the more sophisticated console while also being able to make the games compatible with the original PlayStation 4.

The entire rumor of the game being delayed to 2017 may have started when a well-known industry insider, going by the Twitter username shinobi602, claimed in a tweet that the game may be delayed.

"Well...Horizon: Zero Dawn's getting delayed to early 2017 from what I'm told," shinobi602 tweeted.

The industry insider then followed up the tweet saying that the game would look particularly good in 4K. He later then clarified that what he mentioned regarding the game in 4K was a general comment and that he did not mean that the game would not look good on the original console.
